Accessibility

Every page should work for everyone who wants to read it.

We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA across this site, and treat reduced motion as a feature in its own right.

Motion

The site follows your device’s reduced-motion setting. You can also choose here; the choice is remembered in this browser.

With motion reduced, handwriting appears complete instead of being drawn, nothing rotates or follows the pointer, and no section holds the page while you scroll. All content and controls remain.

What we’ve built in

  • Transcripts. Every handwritten example has a text version. The drawn handwriting is decorative; the words are always available as text.
  • Keyboard. Everything can be reached and operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator and a “Skip to content” link.
  • No special hardware. Nothing depends on hover, dragging, a stylus, sound or 3D graphics.
  • Playback you control. Animated examples can be paused, resumed and replayed, and stop while they’re off screen.
  • Announcements. When a reply finishes, screen readers hear it once — not letter by letter.
  • Touch targets. Primary controls are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
  • Dialogs. The waitlist dialog keeps focus inside while open and returns it when closed.
  • Without scripts. Pages, transcripts, questions and the waitlist form work with JavaScript turned off.

Known limitations

  • The cursive used for AI replies in illustrations can be harder to read at small sizes. Use the transcript for any example. On the device itself, replies are planned to be readable in a clear, non-cursive style.
  • The site has not yet had an independent accessibility audit. One is planned before launch.
